The Seven Chakras
Introduction
Christiane Northrup, M.D., in her book Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom, defines chakras in this way:
Every human being, male or female, has the same chakras, and each of them is affected by specific emotional and psychological issues. These energy centers connect our nerves, hormones and emotions. Their locations run parallel to the body’s neuroendocrine-immune system and form a link between our energy anatomy and our physical anatomy . . .
If we look at chakras as the place where energy transforms from the emotional to the physical body, we can begin to grasp how cultural wounding may have psychological and emotional consequences that set us up for subsequent . . . health problems. Whether you believe in chakras as literal or as metaphoric places in the body, they can help you activate mind-body connections to help you heal.
There are seven primary charkas running along the same medians of the body acupuncturists, and other Eastern medical practitioners follow for their treatments. Whole books have been written on the chakra system and one can educate her/himself by reading. The simplest explanation regarding the seven primary chakras, however, I’ll give you here, which will enable you to understand and enjoy the humor below.
The first chakra, also known as the Root Chakra, is located at the base of the body. Its color is red and it has to do with basic human survival. The second chakra, also known as the Sacral Chakra, is located about two inches below the navel, it’s color is orange and it has to do with the ability to experience pleasure, relationships of all kinds and sexuality. The third chakra, also known as the Solar Plexus, is located about two inches above the navel and it has to do with converting metabolic energy into action. It is your power center. Its color is yellow. The fourth chakra, also known as the Heart Chakra, is around the area of the heart and its color is pink or green. It has to do with your ability to give and receive love. The fifth chakra, also known as the Throat Chakra, is located around your throat, its color is sky blue and it has to do with communication. The sixth chakra, also known as the Third Eye, is located at the center point of the forehead between your eyes. Its color is indigo or dark blue. This chakra has to do with intuition, dreams and vision. The seventh chakra, also known as the Crown Chakra, is located at the top of your skull. This is where your dreams come true, the manifestation of your thinking and desires. Its color is violet.
Often, we become so immersed in our studies, beliefs and intentions we sometimes forget our sense of humor. I received this in my email, author unknown, quite some time ago and honor the reminder to enjoy not only the serious aspects of life, but also the light-heartedness of Life. I just couldn’t resist sharing this here with you. Please keep in mind, again, that the above explanation of the chakra system is barely basic, reducing the system to its simplest description, but perhaps now you can experience the humor in the following.
The Clown Chakra (A little bit of humor)
The Clown Scientists have found that all our problems can be placed under one heading: Seriousness. Seriousness is the leading cause of everything from Cancer to Reincarnation. Scientists from the Clown Academy have already discovered a new source of healing. It is a psychic energy point located between the heart chakra and the throat chakra. It is called the Clown Chakra.
If people are feeling miserable, if they have financial problems, if their relationship situation is the pits, if they are in ill health, if they have a need to sue people, if they find fault with their brother, then obviously, their Clown Chakra is blocked.
When this happens, the scientists have observed under a high-powered microscope that the cells of every organ display a sad face, and when the Clown Chakra is open and functioning normally, the cells display a happy face.
The scientists realized that if a person is ill, it is because his mind has projected guilt onto the cells of his body and has forced out the love that is normally found within each cell of the body. The cells are therefore saying, “I Lack Love,” or “ILL” for short.
The scientists also discovered that all disease is due to the fact that the cells are out of ease or dis-eased.
When the Clown Chakra is opened and working (or rather, playing) properly, the psychic mechanism sucks up misery, pain, anger, resentment, grievances, unhappiness, etc., and converts the energy into tiny red heart-shaped balloons. The red heart-shaped balloons contain Love and Joy.
These balloons are directed to the dis-eased cell or situation, and a happy face appears instantly. When the light enters the darkness, the darkness is gone. Sometimes these red heart-shaped balloons are called endorphins, due to the fact that when anyone experiences them, the feeling of separation ends. They experience being back home with All That Is and hence are no longer an orphan. This is the well-known end-orphan (endorphin) effect.
So, if you think someone is attacking you, Clown Scientists recommend that you visualize sending that person red heart-shaped balloons filled with Love and Joy. Remember to keep your Clown Chakra open and remember to laugh.
Seriousness causes reincarnation.
